What is Nu Lite Hi Light Refill Kit?

Nu-Lite® Highlight Refill Kit is salon formulated and approved for longer lasting colour and shine.

Hi-Light Refill Kit includes:

• Bleach Powder 50g
• Creme Peroxide 30 Volume 100ml
• Protective Gloves

CREME PEROXIDE:

30 Volume Aqua (Water); Hydrogen Peroxide; Cetostearyl Alcohol; Mineral Oil; Ceteareth-20; Disodium EDTA; Phenacetin; Phosphoric Acid.

BLEACH POWDER:

Sodium Silicate; Ammonium Persulfate; Corn Starch; Magnesium Trisilicate; Silica; Cellulose Gum; Lauril Sulfato de Sodio; Sorbitol; EDTA Tetrassodico; Hydrolised Protein; Parfum. Read these instructions carefully before you begin. Be sure to use a watch or timer.

You will require towels, hair brush, comb and shampoo.  Use old towels as they may stain.

Skin allergy test:  If you have never used a peroxide product before, it is advisable to do a skin allergy test prior to application.  Mix 1 teaspoon of bleach powder and 2 teaspoons of creme peroxide into a smooth paste.  Apply a small amount to inner arm and the skin behind the ear near the hairline.  Cover these areas with cotton wool and leave for 1 hour.  If no irritation occurs, it is safe to proceed.

COLOUR TEST: 

The times recommended in the table are guidelines and can vary dependent on the condition and texture of your hair.  Therefore if you have not done this type of tint before, it is advisable to do a strand colour test every 15 minutes to ensure you obtain the desired colour.  Every 15 minutes wipe all the product off one strand only with a piece of cotton wool.  Should the strand not be the desired colour, work the strand back into the mixture on the head.  Wait for another 15 minutes and repeat the above process on another strand.

RINSING: 

Before removing the tint cap, and only once the desired colour has been obtained, rinse the tinted hair thoroughly with warm water.  Ensure all the product is removed from the hair.  Apply a small amount of shampoo to the hair and gently slide the tint cap off.  Once the tinting cap is off, shampoo the whole head thoroughly, then apply conditioner.  Rinse thoroughly and style as desired.

APPLICATION:

Do not wash or wet your hair prior to application.  Brush hair thoroughly.

• Remove all the items from the box.
• Before putting on the tint cap, style your hair as per your usual hair style.
• Put on the tint cap carefully without messing up your hair style. Ensure cap is firmly in place and fasten with drawstrings.  The elastic should be at the back of your neck.
• With a crochet hook, draw strands of hair through the holes in the tint cap. Be sure that each strand is smooth and free of loops or knots at the root area.  For best results, keep the strands even and about the thickness of a matchstick. Only draw strands through where you want to lighten. Comb the strands that are to be highlighted to ensure a smooth finish.
• Put on the protective gloves provided with the kit.
• Pour all the Creme Peroxide 30 Volume into the jar which holds the bleach powder and blend into a smooth paste. Do not close the container or seal the mixture.
• Immediately apply the mixture to the hair with the tint brush, ensuring that all the hair is evenly coated. If hair is long, pile it neatly on top of the head after application.
• For best results, apply indoors and ensure the mixture stays at an even temperature  and is not cooled in any way.

• Do not apply to damaged or processed hair.
• Do not apply if scalp is cut or irritated.
• Avoid contact with eyes. Should this occur, flush with cool clean water immediately and seek medical attention if irritation persists.  Seek medical attention immediately should the bleach powder or creme peroxide be swallowed.
• Do not apply to eyebrows or eyelashes.
• Apply in an aerated environment.

GUIDELINE TINTING TIMES:

• Current dark or medium brown 50 minutes
• Current light brown 45 minutes
• Current blonde 40 minutes
• Current medium blonde 35 minutes
• Current light blonde 30 minutes
