What is Solal Collagen Plus used for:

A multivitamin and mineral supplement that contributes toward the maintenance of healthy hair, skin and nails.

Pharmacological Action:

Collagen Plus™ Skin Essentials contains both vitamin A and E that are fat-soluble vitamins, which contribute to the maintenance of healthy skin, hair and nails. Zinc is a trace mineral essential for the functioning of enzymatic and cellular processes and helps with the production of sebum which is important for healthy skin and hair. Omega-3 extract from fish oil which is high in EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Biotin is an essential water-soluble B vitamin and used orally for hair loss and brittle nails. Collagen is the main protein of connective tissue and is an essential component of skin, and silicon improves the quality of hair and nails. Astaxanthin is a skin protective antioxidant.

How to use Solal Collagen Plus Capsules:

Do not use this product if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients. If you are on any medication or suffering from any medical condition, it is advisable to seek medical advice before starting any new medicine, supplement or remedy. Do not exceed recommended dosages unless on the advice of a healthcare practitioner. This medicine has not been evaluated by the Medicines Control Council. This medicine is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Health supplements are intended only to complement health or supplement the diet.

Side Effects:
Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, heartburn, gastrointestinal upset, itching, rash, fishy and metallic aftertaste.

Contraindications:
There are no known contraindications.

Interactions:
Warfarin and anticoagulants: Collagen Plus™ Skin Essentials may increase the effects of warfarin and lead to an increased risk of bleeding, caution should be exercised with this combination.
Retinoids: These vitamin A derivatives could have additive toxic effects with vitamin A supplements. Individuals taking retinoids should avoid vitamin A supplements. Some of these retinoids include etretinate, isotretinoin and tretinoin.
Hepatotoxic medicines: Excessive doses of vitamin A can cause hepatotoxicity ranging from elevated liver enzymes to liver failure. Taking high doses of vitamin A with hepatotoxic medicines may increase the risk of liver disease.
Tetracycline antibiotics: Benign intracranial hypertension can occur with tetracycline and with vitamin A intoxication. Avoid high doses of vitamin A in individuals using tetracyclines chronically.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
Safety during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding has not been established.
